All schools serve nutritious breakfast and lunch that conform to state requirements. Meals can be purchased at each school on a daily basis. The District participates in the National School Lunch Program that provides free or reduced-price lunches to all eligible families. Eligibility standards are sent to parents in the fall. Applications are available in each school building and are due by the last day of September.
Please submit the free and reduced application to either your child's school or to Laurie D'Amico in the Administration Building. You may also fax it to (914) 681-9126. If you have any questions, please call Laurie at 914.761.6000 ext. 3106

Dear Greenburgh Families,
On behalf of the Greenburgh School District Nutrition Services, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our students to the 2023–2024 school year! We hope you enjoyed your summer and are ready and excited to be back in school. We, as Aramark Student Nutrition, are pleased to be your school district’s food service provider. To help prepare for your child’s return to school, we want to share important news that will affect many families: This year, we have been approved for the Community Eligibility Provision, a meal program option offered by the United States Agricultural Department (USDA) that allows us to serve school breakfast and lunch at no charge to all enrolled students, regardless of financial condition.
As we reopen for the new school year, Aramark Student Nutrition is Powering Potential for students and faculty with innovations in our menus and enhancements to our overall dining operations. When your child dines with us, rest assured that we will be serving delicious, nutritious meals prepared with the utmost attention to safety. We encourage every student to fuel up with a FREE breakfast and lunch meal each day so they can be energized and prepared to succeed throughout the day, in and out of the classroom.
All bread and grain products served for breakfast and lunch are whole grain-rich, ensuring plenty of fiber and other essential nutrients. Added trans fats have been eliminated from all foods, and menus are planned to limit sodium to meet the new standards set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for school meals.
One thing that you can do to help this important cause is to encourage your students to eat breakfast and lunch every day. The demands of the classroom can be difficult for children who are hungry, as you know. Studies indicate students who eat breakfast can concentrate better, earn higher grades, and have fewer illnesses*.
We look forward to working for you to create a healthy learning environment for all students. If you’d like more information, please check the district website for the latest news and updates.
Sincerely,Robert Campisi

Once the district received the Community Eligibility Provisions, the guidelines state that parents do not have to fill out a free and reduced application. However, if parents filled out the Household Income Eligibility Form this would help the district to qualify for other state and federal funds to support our students and could also be used for additional benefits for students that qualify.
Therefore, we are asking all principals to include in their weekly packets an application asking parents to fill out the form, so students may qualify for other costs and for the district to use for future grant funding. Dr. Iverson will also be including this in her weekly message. To download the form, please click here or the image below:
